How does Dryalite reduce condensation?
Dryalite holds moisture-absorbing silica gel inside vehicle-specific headlight caps. It absorbs water vapour from the air inside the headlight, leaving less moisture available to condense on the lens.

Why does the lens mist up?
When the lens gets cold enough, water vapour in the air inside the headlight turns into visible mist or droplets. Lowering the humidity means the lens can get colder before condensation forms.
Why can misting come back after drying?
Warming the lens can turn visible droplets back into invisible water vapour. If that moisture stays inside, it can condense again when the lamp cools.
Dryalite absorbs water vapour as the droplets evaporate, helping lower the humidity inside.

An established automotive principle.
Misting does not always mean a leak
BMW service information distinguishes condensation caused by temperature changes from water entering the headlight. Visible misting alone does not automatically mean the lamp needs replacing.
Moisture absorbers are used in vehicle lamps
Automotive supplier DesiKhan documents desiccant systems for vehicle lighting. Dryalite uses the same general principle of absorbing water vapour, with its own cap and rechargeable silica packets.

Installation instructions
Twist-off cap kits need no cutting or drilling. The sealed-cap F10 kit uses a different fitting method explained in its product details.

Fit: load the silica packets and install your kit following its product-specific instructions.

Absorb: the silica starts taking up water vapour from the air inside the headlight.
- 03
Dry: as droplets evaporate, the silica can absorb the released moisture. Results take different amounts of time in different headlights.
- 04
Maintain: when the beads turn green, remove and recharge the packets, let them cool, then refit them.
Keep the cap. Refresh the silica.
The cap is reusable. Recharge the supplied silica packets when saturated, or replace them when needed. You do not need a whole new kit.

A good candidate
- Recurring misting, especially in cold or damp weather.
- An intact lens and housing, with no pooled water.
- A matching kit with caps and seals that can seal properly.
Repair the fault first
- A cracked lens or headlight housing.
- Split seams, missing seals or badly damaged seals.
- Water actively entering or pooling inside.
If the headlight is cracked or has pools of water inside, Dryalite will not fix it. Repair the fault first.

Recharge and reuse
Green means recharge.
Remove the silica packets, dry them until the beads turn orange, let them cool, then put them back.
Orange is ready. Green is full.
The beads change colour as they absorb humidity, so you know when it is time to recharge them.

3-5 minutes at 700W
Microwave
Remove the packets from the caps. Heat for 3-5 minutes at 700W, cool fully, then repeat once if the beads are still green.
30-60 minutes
Oven
Remove the packets from the caps. Heat at 95-120°C (200-250°F) for 30-60 minutes, then allow them to cool fully.
1-2 days
Sunlight
Leave the packets in direct sunlight for 1-2 days, or until the beads turn orange.
Recharge only when the beads are green
Only heat the silica packets. Never heat the Dryalite caps or seals. Do not reuse a damaged, melted, or scorched packet.

No. Dryalite absorbs humidity from the air inside the headlight. It cannot repair a cracked headlight or deal with pools of water inside it.
